Fire At Downtown High-Rise

CHICAGO (STNG) -- A temporary heating unit on the 26th floor of 62-floor
high-rise under construction sparked a blaze downtown Thursday
afternoon.
A still and box and an EMS Plan 1 were called for the fire, 340 E.
Randolph St., at 3:18 p.m., and they were both secured at 3:40 p.m.,
according to Fire Media Affairs Assistant Director Eve Rodriguez. The
entire building, which only had construction workers inside, was
evacuated, said Rodriguez.
No one was injured, said Rodriguez. The building was "new
construction,'' she said.
?I don?t see any fire but I see a lot of smoke,?? Doris Wilson, the
doorperson at 360 E. Randolph St., which is next door, said. "There are
a lot of fire trucks,?? she said.
Police were notified of the fire about 3:30 p.m., according to
